OPENING ACTIVITY
Vocabulary is all the words known and used by a particular person. In this activity we focus on vocabulary about fruit.
Look at the pictures and understand them!


GRAPE  /greɪp/

GUAVA /ˈgwɑː.və/

CASHEW /ˈkæʃ.uː/
ORANGE  /ˈɒr.ɪndʒ/

BANANA  /bəˈː.nə/

STRAWBERRY /ˈstrɔː.b ə r.i/

WATERMELON /ˈː.təˌmel.ən/

Students, you have already learned some kind of fruits. So, let's continue to the next activity.
After knowing about those kind of fruits, please do the small exercise to check your understanding!

Please match the description of the fruits with the correct name of the fruits!

Descriptions:
1. The fruit that its shape is the longest one.
2. The color of the fruit is red.
3. The fruit that its shape is the biggest one.
4.  The fruit's name is the same with its color
5.  The fruit that its shape is the smallest one.

The name of the fruits:
a. strawberry
b. grape
c. banana
d. watermelon
e. orange

    - provides pictures that can make students attracted.
    - simple material and easy to understand.

    WEAKNESS:
    - the clues are not clear enough.

    SUGGESTIONS:
    If it is focus on vocabulary, I think it will be nice if you also provide sound or transcription in every picture. you can give link to connect sound. so when students click on the picture, the sound will comes out. it also help students to know how to pronounce.

    Strength:
    - it is good to use pictures to build students background knowledge
    - it is good to use colorful template to attract students' attention
    weaknesses:
    - the clues for the quiz are not clear enough
    Suggestions:
    - it's better to add the phonetic transcription
    - it's better to add pictures on the exercises

  3. I like the way u present the material.. it is "pictureful".. it makes the material look interesting that becomes a basic to create a good appetite to "eat" the material..
